Who we are

CTC Music Publishing is a small collective of composers founded in 2018. The group was formed to encourage composers in Central Texas and provide a supportive community for making new music.

Members meet regularly to share ideas, discuss works in progress, and offer constructive feedback. The group emphasizes camaraderie, conversation, critique, and mutual encouragement.

The results of this process often appear on our concerts, which feature performances of our newly composed works.

Concerts

CTC is known for producing imaginative concerts built around playful themes. These events serve as platforms for premieres of new works written by its members.

Past events have included themed programs such as:

  • High Strung: Music for Violin and Piano

  • Curses: A Collaborative Cabaret

  • A (Not So) Bitter Valentine’s

  • Christmas in July

Each concert centers on newly written music and brings together composers with local artistic talent. For example, the “High Strung” concert featured a set of new pieces written for violin and piano; and “Curses” combined music and poetry through a collaboration with the poetry troupe Typewriter Rodeo.

What Does CTC Stand For?

Maybe “CTC” stands for "Central Texas Composers". Or maybe it's "Central Texas & Canada", since one of our founding members recently moved north. Maybe it's "Composers' Therapy Circle..."

CTC Music Publishing relies heavily on community support to sustain its projects. Fundraising efforts help cover costs such as performance venues and musician fees, allowing us to compensate our performers fairly.

Although our concerts often feature humorous themes and playful titles, the underlying purpose is serious: we want to produce beautiful new music, foster collaboration, and create performance opportunities.

So what do we stand for? A healthy creative ecosystem for local musicians and composers, and the belief that creativity is something everyone possesses.
